How many different ways can you make hamburger into a meal
How about party meatballs? I make them every once in a while and put them on a hoagie bun. To make them you take a pound of ground beef, a quarter cup of bread crumbs, salt & pepper, and an egg. Mix it all together then form it into meatballs and cook them in a skillet. In a separate saucepan, mix a jar of Heinz chili sauce with a half jar of red raspberry jelly and bring it to a boil. Drain the grease off the meatballs and then add the chili sauce/jelly mixture and let it simmer for about ten or fifteen minutes. These are good to take to a pot luck in a crock pot too.
Here's something you can do with hamburger meat: this recipe is called "arroz a la cubana."
Brown the hamburger as usual. Throw in diced potatoes. Then raisins. Then peas and carrots. Pour dollops of ketchup (to avoid using too much salt). The ketchup gives it a reddish color. A bit of salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
Get the plaintains ready. Plaintains are bananas used for cooking, not bananas you usually eat). Plaintains have harder skin. Peel off skin. Slice in three segments. Each segment slice again lengthwise. Fry until golden brown. Set aside.
Cook rice. Fry eggs.
When everything is ready, put rice into a plate. Put the fried egg on top of the rice. On one side of the plate, put the hamburger meat. On another part of the plate, put about 3-4 slices of cooked plaintains.
Hope that's not too cumbersome for you!
