SIDS, from the term it self, is sudden. Meaning to say that there are no symptoms so whatever before the death of the infant. Studies reveal that it is due to the position of the baby while sleeping. Sometimes the baby lies on their stomach, not allowing the lungs to expand normally, causing to low oxygen supply. Anyone here know about this one? Are there other known causes?

They just did a news story on SIDS. And the story said that running a fan may help to prevent this for occurring. I could probably find the link if it's OK to post. I know I was always careful making sure that my daughter laid on her back in her crib and not on her stomach. I barely slept always checking on her.

I think it's okay to post the link here. As long as we are not selling something. Lol. Can you share it to us? I would like to know more about this syndrome. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link. I find it really helpful and full of information. Mothers should be aware of it as to prevent it from happening.

I don't know of a baby that has passed away due to SIDS, however a friend of ours sister just lost a 2 year old due to heart problems. Though it devastated the family at that time, they are now pregnant again and are hoping for the best.
