However, you may find that it’s harder when it comes to getting a job if you don’t have a PhD.  Ultimately, each university has its own set of rules and requirements that they require from prospective students. It is worth making sure that you research any college professors that are at the university where you wish to teach. Even better if you research those professors who teach the subject that you wish to teach.

If you’re interested in teaching a subject such as creative writing at a university, you may not require a PhD. A lot of professors who teach creative writing at some of the best universities across the world have a Master of Fine Arts which is very similar to having a PhD. However, this is not always the case and you may also notice that some College professors do hold a  PhD to teach creative writing. Usually, to have a PhD in creative writing, you will have to have written a book. If you take other subjects such as chemistry, you need to have published your research results in journals as this will show how serious you are about your subject and also highlight your qualifications when it comes to becoming a professor.

Even with all of this in mind, real-life experience may actually be more beneficial than anything else. This particularly in the field of aircraft mechanics or business where your success in real life is more important than what qualifications you have under your belt.

A final tip to bear in mind is that it may be worth tutoring when you have spare time. Tutoring is an excellent way of gaining some teaching experience whilst you are a high school student. If you decide to tutor, then you need to choose a subject that you are confident and strong in and perhaps the subject that you want to teach as a college professor. You may have to go to a professional essay service CustomWritings.com for some advice on writing academic articles or papers if you choose a subject such as English and you will have to give up your evenings or weekends to tutor your peers or perhaps tutor students who want better grades.  By tutoring, you’ll also be able to know whether teaching is a career that you wish to take up.  Additionally, if you decide to tutor, the experience you have gained will look great when it comes to college applications.
