Indestructible Dog Toys – Adding Some Fun To Your Dog’s Life

Doberman Pinscher

If you’re a dog owner, then you know there are countless cute dog toys available in pet stores and online. From adorable stuffed animals and squeaky rubber toys to little rope toys and pull-me toys, the options seem endless. But if you have a large dog or a dog that loves to chew, you also know that your dog can disembowel, rip apart, and shred these toys in seconds. What your dog needs are indestructible dog toys. But do such toys really exist? Yes, they do—or toys that are as close to indestructible as possible. Here’s a look at some of our favorites.

Kongs – The all-time leader among indestructible dog toys has to be the Kong brand. Kong has been making hard rubber toys for dogs since 1976, and they are still the leader in this market today. Starting with the original hard rubber Kong, they now make toys in many different sizes, shapes, and colors for dogs that love to chew. Toys in the original basic Kong design, with a hole in the middle, can be stuffed with treats or peanut butter to keep your dog entertained. Kong also makes toys in the shape of bones and other fun shapes. Kong toys can last for years of chewing by even the toughest chewers.

Hurley Indestructible Dog Toy – These toys come in the shape of a ball, a bone, and a stick. The toys are made of Zogoflex, a material that is soft but indestructible. You can do just about anything with these toys—throw them, bounce them, and even float them. They’re great for power chewers.

Durable Balls for Power Chewers

The Almost Indestructible Dog Ball – These balls have been around for a while, and they do seem to be almost indestructible. They are large and made from a polyethylene material, specifically designed for big dogs. They can last through the hardest chewing. This is a very hard ball, and your dog probably won’t be able to get their teeth into it. They may push it around and nose it instead, playing something like doggy soccer with it.

If your dog goes wild for balls, they will probably love the Zogoflex Huck balls. These colorful balls are extremely strong and durable. They can be used any way normal balls can be used, plus they float! The manufacturer says that if your dog can destroy one of these balls, they will replace it for free.

The Planet Dog Orbee-Tuff Woof Ball – This popular toy is loved by tough chewers. It bounces and is mint-scented. It also has a hole so you can stuff it with treats.

Knotted rope balls can be lots of fun for your dog and are much more durable than the small knotted ropes that your dog may chew up quickly. Knotted ropes are also good for helping to remove plaque from your dog’s teeth.

The Petsport Giant Tuff Ball – This resembles a large tennis ball but is made with large dogs and power chewers in mind. The balls are non-toxic and color-fast. If your dog loves to chase and chew on tennis balls, this one will last and doesn’t have the drawbacks of ordinary tennis balls.

Interactive Toys for Power Chewers

Some of the best indestructible dog toys for strong chewers are found among interactive toys. These toys encourage the dog to interact with them in order to dispense treats. They keep your dog entertained while rewarding them for figuring out how the toy works.

Buster Cube – The Buster Cube is a popular toy for large dogs and aggressive chewers. Your dog has to figure out how to operate the cube to get it to dispense treats. The cube is educational and fun for your dog, plus it’s made of a hard plastic that your dog won’t be able to destroy.

Premier Busy Buddy Tug-A-Jug – This toy has been called “the ultimate interactive toy.” With treats inside the jug, your dog can see, hear, and smell the treats, but they must figure out how to get them. This toy stimulates all of your dog’s senses. Plus, it is made from non-toxic materials similar to those used to make bulletproof glass, making it one tough toy!

Bones

When it comes to indestructible dog toys, there is always the old favorite, the Nylabone Dura Chews. Nylabone also makes edible chews that your dog will eat in no time. But the Nylabone Dura Chews, which have a meat flavor, can last for months. They are made of nylon and can satisfy the chewing urges of any dog. They are not particularly large and are inexpensive. In very rare cases, a dog may chip a tooth on a Nylabone or swallow a small piece, so you should always supervise your dog when chewing this or any other bone product.

Compressed rawhides are another favorite for power chewers. Rawhides, in general, can present some problems, as they tend to break off in pieces as your dog chews on them. However, compressed rawhides are more durable and last much longer than ordinary rawhides. If you would like to give your dog a rawhide to chew on, then compressed rawhide is recommended. However, please be sure to monitor your dog carefully whenever they are chewing on compressed rawhide or any type of bone.
